orribl Jul 17, 2007 3:05 AM (in response to mail2bansi)Why don't you use the a4j:commandButton...?
Actually that shouldn't be the problem, but I would give it a try... -

mail2bansi Jul 17, 2007 1:03 PM (in response to mail2bansi)Hi orribl
I even tried a4j:commandButton which too doesnt work. I took off a4j:regio tag around a4j:commandButton
Here is the snippet
<a4j:commandButton id="search" value="Search" styleClass="button" action="#{searchDeviceBean.search}" reRender="searchResults" />
<a4j:outputPanel id="searchpanel" >
<h:dataTable id="searchResults" value="#{searchDeviceBean.queryResults}" var="resultSet" styleClass="list" rowClasses="odd,even" rendered="#{searchDeviceBean.searchResultSet}">
<h:column/>
</h:dataTable>
</a4j:outputPanel> -

orribl Jul 18, 2007 2:49 AM (in response to mail2bansi)hi,
I have a similar constellation and it works as expected...
Do you set your searchResultSet render flag properly? Can you post your searchDeviceBean-Class....? -

alexndr Jul 18, 2007 12:05 PM (in response to mail2bansi)Maybe this is a little "of topic" but I think it's quite hard to figure out when to use the <a4j> components instead of the standard jsf html components?
Just trying them when things are not working as expected seems like a strange way to to approach the problems?
Aren't there any general rules to apply? -

orribl Jul 18, 2007 12:18 PM (in response to mail2bansi)I think you're right that it shouldn't work like that...
I just thought that he should use this component when it's offered specially for this purpose... That's why I wrote "Actually that shouldn't be the problem...".
