JMS - Queue Limit and Size

Hi,

I would like to know how can I get the number of messages in a queue at any instant using JMS and also set the Limit of the queue. So when message count in the queue reaches to the maximum limit it should throw exception and should not put any more messages in the queue.

There is no such option in JBossMQ.

You are correct there should be.

You can get the queue size by looking at
http://localhost:8080/jmx-console

The queues and topics are in the
jboss.mq.destintation domain

Not knowing much about JMX, can I get this info programmatically (aside from parsing the response of an http query on that URL)?

Yes. You can get it from the MBeanServer yourself.
Or if you want remote access you'll need a connector.
