2. Re: Client not responding to some servers
dasfoid Jul 3, 2003 8:42 AM (in response to dasfoid)It looks like:
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
xxx.xx.xx.x myhostname.mydomain.com
Let me know if you see anything wrong with this,
thanks,

3. Re: Client not responding to some servers
adrian.brock Jul 3, 2003 10:09 AM (in response to dasfoid)The next obvious things are to check the client
is resolving the server correctly, do you use
dns/dhcp. Do you have two NICs?
Also try flush the applet cache, maybe it has something
incompatible cached on the client?

4. Re: Client not responding to some servers
dasfoid Jul 3, 2003 2:43 PM (in response to dasfoid)Well, I cleared the cache(I even disabled it to make absolutely sure it wasn't the cache), and I still had the same problem. We are using dns and have one NIC, I did a netstat, and all the packets have been acknowledged by the client(which confirms the results from my packet sniffer), is it maybe possible that the ports got switched, ie the client is expecting something on a certain port, but it is being sent on a different port(is there any way I can check which port the client is listening on?)
Let me know what you think.
Thanks,
-Joel -
5. Re: Client not responding to some servers
dasfoid Jul 8, 2003 11:26 AM (in response to dasfoid)I figured it out, it was a problem with the clock on the server falling too far behind, then the messages being rejected because they were too old, is there any way to increase(or even eliminate) this time limit?
Thanks,

6. Re: Client not responding to some servers
adrian.brock Jul 8, 2003 6:31 PM (in response to dasfoid)The default message ttl is 0 meaning never?

7. Re: Client not responding to some servers
adrian.brock Jul 8, 2003 6:32 PM (in response to dasfoid)You could try using the internet time service to synchronize
the clocks.
