Standalone JBossMQ under 3.2.2 RC4 on Linux XBox

    jeroly

      1. Could somebody please update the modifications required to have a standalone distribution of JBossMQ under 3.2.2 RC4?

      2. I'm interested in running JBossMQ on an XBox running Debian Linux.

--> a. Is anybody else out there doing this?
--> b. The XBox only has 64MB RAM. Does anybody out there have a feel as to whether performance will be acceptable with this level of RAM?

      Thanks in advance,
      Jerry Paulson

          Never tried it.
Starting a minimal Sun vm uses a lot of memory
(this is on top of the OS).
Even if it works, it doesn't leave a lot of space for messages.
You will be paging the messages to and from disk a lot.

Using a swap file to increase memory is strongly not
          recommended with java.

          Regards,
          Adrian
