Still researching - In JVM JBossMQ - by value or reference?

Hi all,

Research question: When JBossMQ operates in-JVM does everything operate on a 'by value' or 'by reference' semantic? That is, is everything serialised or not as messages pass to and from the in-JVM JBoss JMS server?
