    Jopr 1.2 release date ?

    bruno.marchesson

      Hi all,

First, many thanks for your work on Jopr : it is a great tool to use.

We are planning to use Jopr for managing our JBoss cluster, so release 1.2 (focused on this point) is very expected.

According to the roadmap (https://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/Jopr?report=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.project:roadmap-panel), it should have been published last week, but they are still 14 opened issues.

Do you have a realistic release date to communicate ? Some of our developments (Jopr plugin) are pending waiting for this version, and we would like to have an idea on how to schedule them.

      Best Regards
      Bruno

Cool - would these developments be useful to the community at large if you contributed them to the Jopr project? We're always interested in hearing what work the community is doing.

As for the dates, I'm gonna ask around to get our JIRAs to report more realistic dates. The answer we've been giving people up to now is "sometime in the next couple months". But I'll see if we can post some more concrete answers in JIRA.

I want to release a beta/CR soon (within weeks, not months) - to give the community a chance to try out the new stuff before we go GA. I'll see if I can push for that. Stay tuned...

We're trying to finished up development on a couple of majority pieces of new and/or improved functionality that will be major highlights of the 2.2 release. Once that's done (I surmise in the next few days), we'll cut a BETA and most of the team will dive switch to QA-mode so as to get the GA out soon thereafter. Looking at the bug queue, we're in pretty good shape, so I'd expect only a handful of weeks between BETA and GA.
