When I try this it prints the Click Me outside of the ...
It looks like this when I view source, the span is completely outside of the link tags, very strange:<span>Click Me<span> <a href="...."></a>

And why is it so strange to have a span inside of a link? You can put anything inside of a link: image, table, etc.... The span just allows for alittle more CSS control. In my case I make a very sleek looking button.
