Accessing MBeanServer

What is the best/easiest way to register an MBean with an MBean server and then invoke methods of that same MBean ? I can't use the HTTP adaptor though a browser, any ideas ? Some sample code would really help. I need to be able to do this from inside and outside the MBeanServer VM.

Look in the jboss 3 testsuite. It all runs by doing this.

Where do I find the bespoke JBoss 3 TestSuite ? I have downloaded the JBoss 3 beta zip file, but that doesn't contain any source. Where can I find the JBoss 3 TestSuite in cvs ?
