mbean properties and attributes

What, if anything, is the connection between properties defined in an ObjectName and the attributes of an MBean?

Is there a way for the MBean object created to access the properties in its object name?

An MBean can get the object name by implementing
preRegister on javax.management.MBeanRegistration

There is no link between properties and attributes
unless you make it.

Thanks, that was exactly what I needed. I wanted a way to hardcode an attribute into a bean without using code and without exposing the attribute to writable management. This worked like a charm.
