I understand that the current hot deploy system is designed as a tool to speed development and not as a production deployment system. Given this, how are you folks who have jboss in production managing deployments/redeployments to production servers while minimizing downtime and interruption to users? Does anybody have any deployment architecture patterns with JBoss that help automate the promotion of new application versions to their production servers? It's not entirely obvious what those should be from the admin/devel docs. Should I get the clustering docs? It looks like one option might be to roll my own system using ant & the jmx task.
I appreciate any suggestions or references for where to look. We're trying to evaluate JBoss for production use and these are answers we need to move forward.
