hot undeploy: how?

Hi,
concerning daily maintenance of web-applications controlled by a 24/7 JBoss production-server, is there a way to hot-undeploy such an application? Hot-deploy is no problem obviously, but turning it the other way around, by removing the ?ar-file from the configuration-deploy-directory leaves a lot of dangling references when viewed with web-console.

What is the correct way to hot-undeploy a webapplication (and with it, get rid of the now obsolete context)?
