MBeans a solution for me?

Hello,

I have an Application with a couple of threads and sockets, using RMI to invoke some session beans.

Would Mbeans be a solution if I would like to run my app inside JBoss? I guess a local interface would give me better performance. Is this an acceptable way of using MBeans?

I'm new to MBeans and need a tutorial or code examples that can put me in the right direction.
