Control deployment through custom configuration mechanism

I'm trying to integrate JBoss into existing enterprise system. The system uses proprietary configuration mechanism. The requirement is that all services (may be with exception of a few core ones) that are deployed should not use -service.xml files but existing configuration API.
What is the correct way to achive this? Any information is appreciated.

You need to create your own deployer for the legacy config API.
