There is also a configuration way to solve the problem on IE7 but i don't remember now, and I think it's better a software solution...than a configuration. -

I solved it changing a 'sessionexpired redirect filter'. In the case of an ajax req now it returns the specific a4j message (I mean a success 200 OK http packet with the body set as a xml redirect in the a4j format) instead of a tipical http redirect (HTTP status 302)
