This confuses everybody.
ps doesn't work correctly on linux. The 30 instances are 30 threads. ps reports the total memory consumption against each thread.
Your total memory consumption is only 3MB.
This is due to linux adding threads in the process table. ps assumes only discrete processes are there.
If you search these forums you'll find a more detailed explanation of the linux threading model.

but only a group of few people can POST NEW THREADS, but anyone can ANSWER
