Jboss 2.2.2 and VAJ (VisualAge) problem

Hi,

I have tried to follow the online docs to be able to run and debug in VAJ 3.5 without success. First, the manual sais to use source from org.jboss.resource.RARDeployer version 1.3 but there is no newer one than 1.2 so I tried that one insted. Next, when you are deploying under <vaj-home>/deploy nothing happens. I have tried to export to this directory in a jar, as directory and also without exporting. Under deploy/META-INF I have putted the ejb-jar.xml and jboss.xml but it doesn't seem like JBoss cares about those files on start up. It doesn't put anything out to the console anyway. JNDI can't find the bean when I'm testing from a client. Can anyone help?

I'm a couple of steps behind you. I haven't even been able to find any versions of sourcecode for org.jboss.resource.RARDeployer - where did you find the one you're using? Thanks.

and then click on download.
Please write if you get it to work and what is missing in the docs.

Please tell me if it works, I have fucked up the environment in my efforts to get everything to work.

Hi again,

Do it like this instead. Go to http://jexam.inf.tu-dresden.de/jexam/download.html#1 and download the test environment. Import it (you may have to remove javax.something.transaction from the environment first - if so you will see an error during the import) and make sure that all the resources from the import repository are copied to ...../project_resources/<project-name (jboss and so on)>. I had to copy many resources by hand. Open the jndi.properties file and add the following: java.naming.provider.url=localhost:1099
Start the org.jboss.Main and look in the console so everything seems to be OK. You may have to edit the jboss.jcml file to remove everything about the instantdb and hsql if it hangs during start up).
If you then want to use a local client (not servlet which I haven't tried), make sure that your runable class properties have the projects "IBM Enterprise Extension Libraries", "JBoss" and "JNDI" in its classpath.
