Newbie Question: Installation

When I do a generic install of JBoss 2.4.4 with Tomcat 4.0.1, there are no contexts available in Tomcat. Why is that? But there are "war" files in the webapps directory.

i am running intel redhat linux 7.2 with blackdown java 1.3.1.

try

http://localhost/jboss/index.html
this loads the stuff deployed in

jboss/deploy/tomcat-test.ear
There is nothing in the root context
http://localhost/

Have a look in the web forums for other people
confused by this :-)

To answer your "why is that?"

tomcat is running "Embedded" within jboss.
The catalina folder is for running tomcat non-embedded.

Every time I install jboss-catalina I always have to search the forums to find out that the test pages are at:
http://localhost:8080/jboss/index.html
It would be nice if this made its way into the documentation...
