Newbie Questions?

I am completely new to ejb's. I am working on a project for a software engineering class in college and I have a few questions. I have gotten jboss and tomcat running properly at least it appears to be. Now I want to set-up mysql and jboss to talk to each other. Can this be done and how is it done? I anyone can help me out by directing to a site with examples or how to do this I would appreciate it.
