WAR file error

Hello all,

I am a complete novice! I have JBoss2.4.4Tomcat4.0.1 and have created a simple WAR file (containing 2 HTML files, a couple of servlets, plus the deployment descriptor).

I place the WAR file in JBoss/Deploy......but when I enter http://localhost:8080/name.html all I get is a blank screen....no error message at all

All I can think of is that there should be some kind of reference to the html page in the deployment descriptor (there isn't at the minute)......or maybe the html page needs a root context (I thought that was set if you are creating an EAR file and writing an application.xml file)
