Port configuration or several IP addresses when running mult

If I would like to run several instances of JBoss simultaneously or a machine, would you recommend me to do this by port configuration or using several IP addresses?
Pros and cons?

I wouldn't use different ports for different instances since you would have a lot more to change on the client side. By bind to different IP address would be simpler. But I have not got it to work yet by using different IP address for each instance. How you?
