davidjencks Jun 20, 2002 10:16 AM (in response to milind)Did you read the quickstart guide from the sourceforge download page? What about it is difficult to read?

2. Re: Installation Guide
dsosnoski Jun 20, 2002 9:48 PM (in response to milind)The quickstart guide looks very nice - thanks, Andreas! However it doesn't appear to be linked from the download page on jboss.org. I'm glad I investigated far enough to find this discussion in the forums, otherwise I would have ended up just deleting JBoss 3.0.
You should either link the quickstart directly from the JBoss download page, include the quickstart in the download, or send everyone to the Sourceforge page. As it is now you can download the program and figure out how to start it but not have a clue where to go from there. -
4. Application Template?
katazan Jun 29, 2002 2:49 AM (in response to milind)I've read the quick start guide from top to bottom. What sparked my interest the most was the mention of templated projects. I would like to start using this functionality (I'm very familiar with ant, and relatively familiar with the templating concept), but couldn't find reference to any kind of download for a sample templated project.
Do you gents know where I can download this?
I would like to port my projects to the jboss 3.0/jetty release, but don't really know where to start in terms of deployment. Until I get the templated project working, I'll have to do it the good ol' fashioned way...deploying my existing ears, jars, and wars. I have no idea where these are to be placed, however. I've noticed that with the installation of jboss 3.0, there are all, default, and minimal deployment directories, but no mention of how to deploy to these or configure jboss.
Please help.
Sincerely,
John C. Dale

5. Re: Application Template?
davidjencks Jun 30, 2002 1:09 AM (in response to milind)Stay away from minimal unless you know what you are doing: you need to add the jars for the specific services you need if you want it to do anything. If you don't need clustering, jboss.net, or iiop, use default; if you do need one of these use all.

spazmosity Jul 17, 2002 5:12 AM (in response to milind)You can get the template from http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/jboss (filename JBoss.3.0Template.And.Examples.zip). You can get the quick start guide from the same place.
