localhost:8082 or 8083 not working on 3.01 RC1

I have installed and started 3.01RC1 (no startup errors) according to the (scant) instructions, but when browsing to localhost:8082, I get "connection refused" and similarly port 8083 just displays a blank page. What could be wrong with my config? How can I get a test page up to see that its working ?

According to the notes I received as part of the user list the management console has changed to http://localhost:8080/jmx-console/

Yeah! that works - Thankyou kind sir.

That works for using jetty, but not when I had Tomcat 4.1.3 running on 8080 though. Ah well, I suppose getting JBoss to work with Tomcat is another subject alltogether.
