JBoss-3.0.1RC1_tomcat-4.0.4 port config

I am trying to run the JBoss-3.0.1RC1_tomcat-4.0.4 bundle on port 80 on linux. I have tried changing the port in server.xml and tomcat4-service.xml. I have tried one then the other then both but I get:
jboss.web:service=EmbeddedCatalinaSX failed......
java.net.BindException: Permission denied:80.
Apache is not running and
I ran netstat --inet -apn and nothing is running on port 80

This is probably too late, but it appears to me as though you are not starting JBoss from root. To run a service on port 80 (or any port less than 1024 - I think) you must be root.
