Tomcat is a http server or not ?

I've installed Jboss.3 with Tomcat.4
Jboss works, and Tomcat only answers on port 8082.
Is it possible to get something more from Tomcat, like:

- show static html pages on port 8080
- show html pages with jsp
- activate servlets

?????
Or it is only possible to activate war applications ?

It is more than likely that your Tomcat is answering requests on port 8080, not 8082 (which is the JMX management port).

To answer your question, yes tomcat can service static HTML pages, JSP pages and servlets as well.

download jboss version with embedded tomcat and run_with_catalina, there's nothing more you need to do.

I've downloaded Jboss.3+Tomcat.4, but I don't see how to launch "run_with_catalina".
I only have run.bat !
