dear sir,
I have downloaded the JBoss-2.4.4_Tomcat-3.2.3 from your site.We are building a website for our business and we want to maintain our own server.Sir we have Windows 2000 Proffessional as the Operating system. We extracted the JBoss-2.4.4_Tomcat-3.2.3 in "C:\" drive.We set the
Path = C:\JBoss-2.4.4_Tomcat-3.2.3\tomcat;
classpath= C:\JBoss-2.4.4_Tomcat-3.2.3\tomcat\lib\servlet.jar;
For the Tomcat
after setting this when i tried to enter the JBoss-2.4.4_Tomcat-3.2.3 directory from the command prompt by typing on the command prompt C:\>cd JBoss-2.4.4_Tomcat-3.2.3 then the error message flashed on the prompt that invalid directory.
After that i type on the command prompt C:\>echo %path%
then it showed me the path for the tomcat C:\>JBOSS-~1.3\tomcat;
then i tried to enter in the JBoss-2.4.4_Tomcat-3.2.3 by typing on the command prompt C:\>cd JBOSS-~1.3 then i got entered into the directory.
i have set the TOMCAT_HOME = C:\JBoss-2.4.4_Tomcat-3.2.3\bin;
JAVA_HOME = C:\jdk1.3.1_04;( same here that i am going inside the Java directory by the name JDK13~1.1_0 means by typing C:\>cd JDK13~1.1_0 )and also setted the other required setting.
now when i am typing on the command prompt
C:\>JBOSS-~1.3\tomcat\bin>tomcat run
then it is giving the message that:
"Unable to locate servlet.jar, chect the value of TOMCAT_HOME."
i have also checked by changing the value of the
TOMCAT_HOME = C:\JBOSS-~1.3\tomcat; and
classpath = C:\JBOSS-~1.3\tomcat\lib\servlet.jar;
after doing such changes when i am running the tomcat the same error message is comming.
I have got the MSDOS7 .
i have also tried by setting the value of the TOMCAT_HOME in the tomcat.bat file in the bin directory of the tomcat inside JBoss-2.4.4_Tomcat-3.2.3.
then also same error message is popping.
Please sortout my problem and what could be the reason for that as soon as possible.
Regards Ashish
