Jboss 2.4.4 - Tomcat 4.0.1 freeze during start-up - HPUX

Hi all,

Well I'm stumped....

I have a stock JBoss2.4.4-Tomcat4.0.1 installed on HP/UX 11 using the HP jdk1.3.1.

Everything seems to be fine configuration wise..we even had it up once after solving some OCI driver issues.

However, the ctrl-c wouldn't shut down the process so we had to "kill -9 pid" it. Now whenever we try to start it up, we get as far as the

[INFO] StateManager Starting

line and it just freezes...no log messages, no stack traces. Nothing.

I have the same version running on my Win2K box and a Solaris box (sparc) with no problems. Unfortunately, the client must run this on the HP machine.

I have never run accross anything like this in 2 years of using JBoss.

Any ideas?

what if you temporarily comment out the JMS service, does it still hang?

Yeah, I thought of that...I'm getting the client to do that today. I'll let you know

Well, it turned out to be some kind of environmental problem at the client site...what I don't know. They "rebuilt" the user profile under which Jboss would run and WHAM!!! Working no problem....

Go figure...
