    Jboss 3.0.4 Ports/Firewalls

    ericcire

Hi, I'm trying to set up Jboss 3.0.4 using a swing client. I've read through the forums, and bought the six month subscription.

I find these three ports in jboss-service.xml:
      8083 - WebService
      1099 - Jndi
      4444 - RMI

What's the webservice port for? Jetty uses 8080 by default, so this is something different? An alternate web http port?

Other questions have mentioned another, random, RMI port that can be set to a static one, and another, "anonymous" Jndi port, but these seem to be for pre-3.0 Jbosses (they all mention jboss.jcml from 2.4.x)

And I also need to set a few environment variables to make sure that RMI is sending hostnames, not Ips?

Any help would be appreciated. I'm proud to say that I have convinced my boss to use JBoss :)
