jboss-3.0.4_tomcat-4.1.12 - admin / management consoles

Currently using JBoss-2.4.0_Tomcat-3.2.2 integrated with IIS (finally) - works great. Wanting to upgrade to the above with the assumption of increased performance and staying current.
Can anyone tell me why the Tomcat 4.1.12 ROOT, admin and management interfaces are inaccessible by default in the above distribution?
I have searched through a miriad of JBoss forums looking for the answer, and there doesn't appear to be any official directive from JBoss.org.
I would like to run JBoss and Tomcat together AND have access to the admin and management functions provided in the Tomcat 4.1.12 distribution.

Any feedback would be much appreciated and relief for a sore head.

I have the same question : why admin and management console are disabled by default and above all, how to make them available ?

I used th Sun WSDL Developer Pack and I need to access to manager context to deploy easily my web application.

i have installed jboss with tomcat.i couldnt get into tomcat administration /tomcat manger windows . i have tried the user names given in conf/tomcat-users.xml ..but those are also not working.. is there any specific user name and password to use intially?

any help would be appreciated.

jpro, I don't think those users are members of the groups they need to be by default. You need to edit that XML file.

How does one get to the admin window, i.e. what URL do you use to get to the admin/management windows?
