Returning to prompt after starting jboss

Hi all,

I'm new with JBoss, and I'm running version 3.0 on solaris 8. What I'm wondering is whether there is an option when starting jboss to return to prompt after it has started, exiting the console itself?

Any ideas other than pattern matching the 'start jboss' phrase and exiting?

You should be able to use "&" on the end of your start command. If you don't want the console output, either:
1) Disable it in log4j.xml (CONSOLE appender)
2) Redirect stdout and stdin on your command line, like so:
$ run.sh > /dev/null 2>&1 & (if using sh/bash)

run.sh > /dev/null 2>&1 &
if you don't want to see console output (or you could just turn it off in log4j.xml)
