the RMI port 1099 creates frequent problems on Windows especially with the Oracle DB running on the same machine. See also:

I want to fix this by changing the port from 1099 to 5099. However, altering the port number in the jboss config file and the applicatiion jnp system properties is not enough. I have tried it and it does not work.
My question is: what is the procedure to change the RMI port? What files need to be edited. Which system poperties must be set?
I am using Jboss 3.0.4.
