1. Re: JBOSS 3.2.1 GUI Console
ewanbenfield May 19, 2003 9:48 AM (in response to locutus)Hi -
I'm having problems too. The startup logs tell me that a webserver is started on http://172.xx.xx.xx:8083/jmx-console but when I point IE at that port I get an empty html page back. Stopping JBOSS then leads to the 'cannot connect site' error, so it's coming from jboss. No console though...
Any ideas? Ewan -

locutus May 19, 2003 10:49 AM (in response to locutus)I guess I'll post one way I found the fix the problem. Basicly when the applet loads, the JVM (MS or Sun) cannot find the HttpsURLConnection class. I tried several way to get this into a classpath that the JRE or MS JVM would understand. No luck. Finally I just added the class tree to the applet.jar file in the web-conolse.war file. This fixes the problem.

juhalindfors May 19, 2003 3:46 PM (in response to locutus)The port is 8080, not 8083.
Both IE6 and Mozilla with JDK1.4 Java plugin seem to work fine for me on W2K. -

tafypz May 19, 2003 6:53 PM (in response to locutus)Are you using jdk 1.3 ?
I believe that this class is in 1.4+ by default but not in JDK 1.3 as it is part of the jsse.jar -

prabhakar May 22, 2003 6:35 PM (in response to locutus)Also try http://localhost:8080/web-console(only in 3.2.1). You will see the new applet based manager. Very Cool :--)

locutus May 30, 2003 10:02 AM (in response to locutus)Yes that's correct - 1.4 has the SSL classes in the base JDK and 1.3 does not - you need to add these to the JBOSS build.
