The existing, default configuration for jboss-service.xml should have been left alone. I don't think your configuration definitions are correct and you have probably killed both the 8080 listener and the AJP13 listener on port 8009. You have left out the JKMount for /jmx-console/*. There may be other problems but those are the ones that stood out.
Otherwise build for mod_jk2 - the only benefit is that it is easier to understand the set up. There are several FAQ answers in the FAQ forum. The Tomcat/Jetty instructions in the FAQs apply for mod_jk and mod_jk2. -
