installing jboss and integration with tomcat

I have installed jboss on a linux machine and the server starts up in around 50 seconds with a few warnings.

When i try to access the tomcat's page using http://localhost:8080...the error message is context not configured properly

the error in the server terminal:
Mapping config error for requested URI.

and when i type in http://localhost:8082 for JMX ....
i get "connection refused."

If you are running JBoss 3.2.x or higher, there will not be a root context. Try http://localhost:8080/jmx-console to run the JMX management console.

how do i check whether the embedded tomcat container is running??

Read the FAQ forum on Changes to JBoss 3.2.0 for information on setting a root context but you will need WAR that represents the root context.

You can check the jmx-console, jboss.web for the web server and its state.
