how to disable logging

What is it that being logged in these log files? Is it possible to disable the logging or reduce the amount of information being dumped in these files?

I am also wondering if could provide a script to purge the log files that are older than two days.

I am running JBoss 3.0.4 on Sun Solaris 8.

You can configure logging with conf/log4j.xml including log file size and log levels

Look for the appenders and check the Threshold attribute, you can set this threshold higher (FATAL, ERROR, WARN, INFO, DEBUG) in that order.
