Problem: Occasionally, and for no apparent reason, the server shuts down. The only indication I get of anything happening is that the following lines appear in console.log:
13:11:00,828 INFO Server: Shutting down
13:11:00,828 INFO Server: LifeThread.run exits!
13:11:00,828 INFO Server: Shutting down the JVM now!
13:11:00,843 INFO Server: JBoss SHUTDOWN: Undeploying all packages
Be assured, noone stopped the server. I'm wondering if anyone has run into this issue. If we restart JBoss daily, the problem decreases. Could it be some sort of Windows resource limitation? Is there anything I could add to log4j.xml to track a particular class?
I know some of the more knowledgeable of you will mutter under your breath, "idiot". Fine, I can live with that. I'm not a JBoss expert, I'm just a project manager trying to keep the environment up with little or no support and zero budget. :)
Environment:
JVM: Sun's HotSpot Server VM, version 1.4.1_03-b02 (it happens under 1.4.1_05 as well)
Host: Windows 2000 Advanced Server - fully patched
Max Memory (reported in web-console): 1088MB, used - never more than about 253, which I find a bit odd.
JBoss 3.2.2(200310182216)/Tomcat 4.1.27-LE-jdk14
set JAVA_OPTS=%JAVA_OPTS% -Xms256m -Xmx1024m -server
That about covers it, I think. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
