client-deployer-service.xml (what is it for?)

Does anybody know, what client-deployer-service.xml is used for? In JBoss 3.2.3 that XML can be found in the deploy directory.
In JBoss 3.2.1 it is not there.
Since most documentation is based on 3.2.1 I did not find any description, not in the (pay for) documentation, not in the forums, not with google.

Its the J2EE application client deployer service which handles the ear META-INF/application-client.xml descriptors.
