Can jboss run on Itanium processor

    rkpraveenp

      Hello all,

I am a bit curious to know if jboss can run on 64 bit Itanium processor with windows 64 bit OS and java 64 bit sdk installed.

Is there a separate 64 bit edition of jboss?

Any info or case studies would help a lot.

      Thank you.

Have it up and running here on a AMD64 with RedHat EL 3.0 if somebody is interested in the test results, ask.

Which version of JDK and Jboss are you using? I would also like to know if you are using any backend database for any of the application you are running?

We do have an application running on Jboss with informix database on a Xeon processor, and we need to scale up the hardware to meet user demand and we are considering Itanium 2 as informix 9.4 runs on this. So can jboss run on this as well?

              Blackdown JDK 1.4.2 RC 1 for AMD64
              JBoss 3.2.1

I'm interested. I was wondering if there was significant postive or negative affect on performance. We're considering an investment in new hardware and are struggling to decide to go middle of the road on Xeon's or opt for Opterons.
