Its been reported so long and I can't find a resolution for this issue

Each message in the buffer is delivered in a separate email message.
The mail is not sent per line. If your message contains more than one line then the entire message will be sent in the mail. However, it looks like that your messages contain a single line and there are many such messages which you are logging, resulting in that many number of mails being delivered -

It is the problem with printstacktrace call which was generating mutiple emails for a single exception.
