Porting Existing JBoss App from Win2K to HP-UX

Could anyone offer any suggestions on what to watch out for, when porting an existing JBoss application from Win2K to HP-UX?

I would watch out for the JVM on HP-UX locking up and even refusing to respond to "kill -3" to get a thread dump.

We have been chasing this issue with HP for weeks now. Try this patch, try that patch, but it still locks up at random intervals from a few hours to a couple of days.

Never, never, never have I seen any issues like this when running on Win2K.

OF course we are running on old versions, but it should not be possible to lock up a VM like this in pure Java.
