upgrading from 3.2.3. To 4.0.1 or 3.2.6 ?

Hello,

We have been running our app on 3.2.3 for like a year without problems. Now we have decided to upgrade. I wonder if we should go to 3.2.6 or jump to 4.0.1.

We are not interested in AOP, Hibernate or Clustering. Caching could be good, but we are not having any performance issues anyways.

How much of a problem is to migrate to 4.0.1, and how stable is it? What would you do?

If I were running on jdk1.4, I would go for 4.0.1.
Between 3.2.3 and 3.2.6 a lot of changes were introduced (some backported from the 4.x branch), so if you're gonna bang your head against the wall, it might as well be for 4.0.1. :-)

Note that from 3.2.3 to 3.2.6, jdk1.3 compatibility has been broken.
Personally, I'm still waiting for 3.2.7 to address that....

Thank you Frank. I'm running on 1.4.2 so might as well go for JBoss 4 and disable the services I won't be using.
