trying to untar jboss-4.0.2 and getting a check sum error

Hi, I'm trying to untar the 4.0.2 version of jboss on a solaris 2.9 system but I'm getting a check sum error. I downloaded and gzip'ed just fine. a tar tvf completed with out error but then I try to do a tar xvf I get to this point and then a check sum error:
jboss-4.0.2/server/all/deploy-hasingleton/jms/jbossmq-httpil.sar, 0 bytes, 0 tape blocks

tar: directory checksum error

Any Idea that I'm doing wrong. I'm using the standard solaris tar bininary to attempt the extraction.

it must be something with solaris 9's bundled tar as I downloaded the GNU tar off of sunfreeware.com and it extracted it fine.

You are right jeremy.

The jboss tar file is built with a GNU tar compliance. The solaris tar is different from that one. I had the same problem. Try to get the zip version, and it will work fine.
