Test & Production Environment on the Same Server?

Hi all,

We have a J2EE application running on JBoss 3.2.4 on a HP-UX Superdome server (1 partition of 4 CPU's and 8Gb of memory).
Our application has been deployed to the customer and is in the production stage. We are now starting the development of a new, mainly maintenance, release. The problem is related to the fact that the customer does not temporarily have an HP-UX server to dedicate to the next test phase.

In our code we use 4 topics and a queue and so we cannot simply configure a different web context for access.

Any advice on how to solve this problem?

I would start another JBoss instance on the server using different ports for all the services. This can be accomplished by using the ServiceBindingManager.

I am using JBoss 3.2.7 . This version comes with an example. Watch out for the configuration of the ServiceBindingManager within your conf/jboss-service.xml .
