I have installed jboss 4.0.2 on WIndows 2000. The server is coming up properly, however, I am not able to connect to the web server through
port 80. http://localhost:8080/jmx-console draws a page-not-found error.
1. My server log says " [Http11Protocol] Starting Coyote HTTP/1.1 on http-0.0.0.0-8080" - is this normal or should it say "127.0.0.1:8080"?
2. Do I need a static IP on my desktop to install JBoss? When I do a ipconfig , I get "Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : main_not_set.invalid". I read somewhere in a usergroup that JBoss has problems if the server domain is not set. I couldn't find a solution for this there though.
This server is not on a network. The only LAN connction I have is the DSL one, where IP is dynamically assigned.
3. After the server starts up, netstat shows that the port 0.0.0.0:8080 is engaged. I tried changing the port no and it is refllecting in the server logs, but my JMX page doesn't appear.
I believe it is a problem with the IP resolution of the machine. I wonder whether anyone else have come across this issue, and how it has been resolved.
Sorry to sound like a total nincompoop, but I'm breaking my head over it for some time now. Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.
regards
jith
Ok. I got this up. My firewall was blocking this port. Thanks all the same.
