Do you have loading strategy for scripts/styles defined in web.xml? What is it? -

stevefchambers Sep 15, 2008 5:21 PM (in response to stevefchambers)That helped some. It reduced it down to a little over a minute.
I posted the results of the latest firebug net tab.

Is it the framework.pack.js.jsf and the ui.pack.js.jsf that are taking so long to load? I am not sure that I am reading the firebug correctly.

7. Re: Richfaces .js files taking 2 minutes to load
stevefchambers Sep 15, 2008 11:01 PM (in response to stevefchambers)Yes, it does. I have run it in all types of OS's, with and without firebug, Firefox and IE, everything I can think of. When I made the adjustment, even the files it brings down the first time are fast. It is only these two remaining files.

stevefchambers Sep 16, 2008 6:26 PM (in response to stevefchambers)I figured this one out. It turns out that our homemade gzip compression filter was causing the slow down. When I changed the filter mapping, everything started working. Thanks for the help.

sergeysmirnov Sep 16, 2008 9:30 PM (in response to stevefchambers)Your compressor set the wrong file size. This is a reason why browser waits so long. Most likely, it happens because of double compressing.
You can try to set a web.xml param org.ajax4jsf.COMPRESS_SCRIPT to false. May you will able to use your compressor after that. If not, check the issue with transferring file size.
