My application is using a property file. Where should I put this property file so the EAR can read the file at run time? If let's say it is the server/default/config folder, what I would put the relative path in the java code to read the property file?

You can also place your properties file within a jar file within the ear file and load it like a resource bundle. The resource bundle uses the class loader to locate properties files.
