Exception is thrown when shutting down the server

When shutting downt he server with:

shutdown.sh --shutdown

The exception that is being thrown is:

Why is this? I take it this is not a good shutdown of JBoss so what can I do to resolve the issue?

Why?

Classes with version 49.0 were compiled using a 5.0 JDK. Apparently you are running an earlier JVM (perhaps 1.4.2?)

I got that resolved but now I'm getting the first exception that i posted. I'm starting the server like this:


run.sh -b <server_name> -c <server_instance>

The <server_name> is actually the server name from the host file and NOT the ip.

Because you used the -b option to start the app server, you must also supply the host name to shut the app server down:

./shutdown.sh --server=<server-name>:1099 --shutdown
