peterj Jul 24, 2007 5:01 PM (in response to ag03902)You downloaded the source. Try downloading the binary instead - the binary is a zip file.

3. Re: Error with Installation of JBOSS Application Server 4.2.
peterj Jul 25, 2007 10:59 AM (in response to ag03902)The error you posted was:
Missing required file: /usr/jboss/jboss-4.2.1.GA-SRC/bin/run.jar
This file exists in the binary download, at the location specified. Well, actually it would be at /usr/jboss/jboss-4.2.1.GA/bin/run.jar if you unzipped into the same location.
What are the files in the bin directory? -

peterj Jul 25, 2007 1:17 PM (in response to ag03902)You need to set JAVA_HOME to the JVM installation directory, looks like you have it set to the java executable. On my Fedora system I have it set as follows:
export JAVA_HOME=/usr/java/jdk1.5.0_11 -

8. Re: Error with Installation of JBOSS Application Server 4.2.
peterj Jul 25, 2007 3:55 PM (in response to ag03902)You can safely ignore this warning.
JBoss AS 4.2 includes the new JBoss Web Server, which uses the Apache Portable Runtime (APR). This technology allows you to provide platform-specific libraries to handle HTTP/HTTPS requests. JBoss AS does not ship with those platform-specific libraries. But then it does not require them - it uses Java code to process the requests instead. -
