peterj Oct 1, 2007 11:43 AM (in response to olvin)I looked at the source and you should be OK with running because the getnameinfo function is not called in IPv6 is off, like you have it set. Also, from my reading of the code, the JVM dynamically links to the libraries and will not call the getnameinfo function is not present.
As far as getting the dialog to not show up, that is a Windows issue. All I can think of is recompiling the JVM and unsetting the AF_INET6 option.
Which version of JBoss AS are you running? If 4.0.x, and you are not using EJB3, you could run with JDK 1.4.2. -
5. Re: JBOSS startup on W2000 SP4 : getnameinfo entry point not
olvin Oct 1, 2007 4:24 PM (in response to olvin)I'm using JBoss 4.2.1.
I will try the Sun JDK 6 update 2 and also on another Win 2000 server.
I will tell you if it works.

6. Re: JBOSS startup on W2000 SP4 : getnameinfo entry point not
olvin Oct 3, 2007 11:06 AM (in response to olvin)I have tried with JDK 1.5.0 update 13 and I have the same problem at startup.
But with JDK 1.6.0 update 2 => NO ERROR ON STARTUP !!!
But as i'm using jbossws, I have on error when accessing my webservice. This is a resolved bug between jbossweb and JDK 1.6.0. So, i must use at least jbossweb 2.0.0.
And also... JDK 1.6.0 is not certified for JBoss 4.2.1...
So, anyone has another solution to avoid using JDK 1.6.0 ?
Thanks,
Olv
