    How to JBoss admins persistently test the service?

      I inherited a business system that uses JBoss 4.0 service on a Windows Server 2003 box. The business application sometimes receives communication failure to the service. We just start and restart the service and that seems to fix it but normally it is too late and we lose some transactions.

      What are the common scripts or tools admins use to get notified that the service needs to be restarted?
