Hi,
On startup, does JBoss write its process id anywhere in the file system?
If not,
Is there a smart way of finding the process id using a script.
Reason:
We notice that the JBoss java process, sometimes, is not getting exited when shutdown.sh is called. So we would like to do a double check using the process id to kill the process.
JBoss 4.0.5
RedHat Linux 9 [Enterprise]
Any suggestion/direction would be appreciated.
Regards,
Vijesh
See the work described here:

Basically, set LAUNCH_JBOSS_IN_BACKGROUND, then you can store the pid of run.sh and use that to stop jboss...
